The last few days have been rather mixed, weather-wise. We've had sheets of rain, lightning, thunder and hail. On Tuesday I caught up with Mike and his team after they had just come back from a camping shop with brand new rainproof clothing!
But in between, the work progresses. The timber frame walls are being clad, from inside to out, first with a layer of cement board, then there will be rigid foam insulation, and blockwork, and finally the cedar cladding.
And on the inside, rockwall insulation is going in between the framework. This photo shows one of the few "deliberate mistakes" we've found so far - just to the left of Stephanie's elbow is a window frame that wasn't meant to be there (in our ensuite bathroom). The new opening is now in the right spot!
And finally, we noticed that a low wall is coming along the curved front section. The raised sections will be where there are cedar panels, and the lower sections are where the windows will come down to floor level, and the lowest sections are where there will be sliding windows.
