We are getting close to deciding on the kitchen layout. The blue lines mark the two rows of cabinets (cooker to be on the left wall, sink in front of the window (which you can't see in the photo - right where the metal stands are). The island ... is an island.
Meanwhile, the rafter extensions are being painted black.
They will be attached at both ends of each of these roof rafters, extending the roof by about 60 cm.
And we had an inspection by the company providing a structural warranty. All was well, except he requested the replacement of a bit of damp proofing membrane to protect one end of the insulation, at the end of the cavity wall (an easy job), and to remove some of the bits of wood and mortar that had dropped into a couple of other sections of the cavity. This wasn't such an easy job, as they were about 4 feet down a narrow gap! You can just make out Alan's glove poking though where he and Ian took out a brick, so that he could stick his hand inside to get at it! All fixed now.
