Pre-fab walls

With Jack's help, we have worked out a scheme of making the walls in 3m sections, and then lifting them into place. After the first section, which was slow and awkward, we are now flying along, and have 5 sections in place (only 4 in this photo). Five more to go, plus the sections at the front, which will frame the doors...
Without Jack's help, and with a nasty cold wind blowing, progress slowed. Still, three more panels are in place, and I plan to get the door frames on tomorrow, to tie it all together at the front.
Day 3 - its getting less pre-fab, and more bespoke tailoring. I'm planning to crack on with the lean-to (at the right end of this photo) tomorrow.
Day 4 started with everything covered in a sheet of ice - I was having to separate the stacked wood with a spade! However, by the end of the day I was stomping around in mud again, and wishing for more ice. The lean-to is now leaning-to. Onwards and upwards to the roof next.
Day 5 - the walls are complete - its amazing what a difference the wall-plate (the second layer of the 6x2 all around the walls, overlapping the lower level junctions) has made. Its nice and solid.
But after all that fun, Stephanie and I were reduced to beasts of burden. I needed to get a load of plywood and OSB board under cover, as it was getting wet, and I ordered another supply of joists to make the roof. The Buildbase delivery truck arrived yesterday morning, while the bottom of our driveway was a sheet of ice. So he left all the timber at the bottom, and we had to man- and woman-handle it up the hill.
