Metal webs and concrete pads

Its been a relatively quiet week, with various folk on holiday. The block and beam floor - which was looking nicely settled until now - has had a series of gaps opened up in it, so that concrete pads can be built up from the underying foundation walls. These are for the oak posts to rest on.

We also received a delivery of "metal web" floor joists for the first floor. The big advatangae of these, over the original plan for a concrete floor, is that all the services and air ducts can be easily installed. Most of the upper structure that they will start to build next week, on top of all the block work inner walls, will be a wood constrution.
