The other curve

The rafter extensions are all on the back of the roof now, and all the gaps neatly filled in with blocks.

While on the front, a fascia board is going up - it is in straight segments, but will, we hope, look curved when completed.
Downstairs, the first of the cedar cladding is being stained - this "deep blue" will be placed above the rafter extensions, to form the soffit, underneath of the overhanging section. There will also be deep blue on the narrow vertical sections of cladding just beneath the roofline.
And we spent an afternoon trying to settle on floor tiles. We think we have them sorted out now.
Paul Olds recommended we popped into the Audi showroom next to the tile showroon, not to buy a car but to look at the perforated acoustic ceiling tiles - these will be on the ceiling of the open plan living area, to damp down the echos. We had something similar in the ceiling of the bedrooms in our house in Jamaica, 50 years ago - Chris can remember lying in bed and seeing fire flies crawling around on the ceiling, winking away nicely.
