Mud pies and red bricks

After a pretty wet few days, the site has turned back into a soggy and slippery field. The last few days have seen hundreds of tons of soil moved off-site, and everything else is becoming covered in mud. Its the same process as before, piling up soil at the bottom of the driveway and scooping it into waiting trucks.

The hope is to now put down enough hardcore that there is a good stable working surface all around.

The blocks and beam floor is also more or less finished, with Pete deciding to cut blocks to fit the wedge shaped gaps, rather than infill with concrete.

We also have three test panels of bricks, and have selected the middle one as the best match to our existing outbuildings, and to the rather nice farm building just up beyond the church.
