Most of the mountain of earth has been shipped off site (about 250 tons so far, I think).
There was a pretty slick operation involved - moving soil to dumper truck with the biggest digger, dumper truck dumping the soil on the upper part of the driveway, and the mid-sized digger picking it up, spinning 180 degrees and dropping it into a wagon that could just squeeze up the main bit of the driveway, and take away 20 tons at a time. It all goes into landfill in a big empty quarry somewhere in the midlands.
The laying of concrete breeze blocks for the sub-floor should start next week.
